      • WELCOME TO THE WINNER CIRCLE FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER (Because we all are winners) Bright moments to you and yours. The subject for this month is your comfort. I ask you; What have you gotten used to in your life, and why? It has been said that people can get used to almost anything. If it happens gradually over time and in small enough increments, I believe this is true. When you become used to things being a certain way, you develop what we call a comfort zone around them. When you're in your comfort zone, you don't really have to think too much about it. If you're used to cleaning up your house every day because you like things neat and tidy, it will put you out of your comfort zone to wake up in the morning and see a sink full of dirty dishes. Generally, you will make sure that doesn't happen. If, on the other hand, you get used to seeing a sink full of dirty dishes every morning when you get up, it won't bother you at all. Now, if you are expecting company, the things you've gotten used to and comfortable with may suddenly become very un-comfortable. "That's okay for me," you may think, "But I don't want my company to see it like that," and you go to work to clean up the mess. Do you know people who go on crash diets before a school reunion or other special events? It is the same sort of thing. Take a look at your life. Are there things you've gotten used to, bit by bit, that surprise you a little now? Don't just put on a facade for company. Aren't you worthy of the same consideration and the same high standards you display for others? Do it for yourself, because you deserve it

      • Hi Randi! Go Steelers!! For the most part I like the new zune software and the web pages. The Zune software seems to use a LOT of CPU though! Even just doing nothing! But it's really great other than that. I like the web pages but they have gotten rid of some things like showing number of plays per song in recent plays and when the recent plays were last updated. Minor things, though. The pages look really great too! What do you think?

      • WELCOME TO THE WINNER CIRCLE FOR THE MONTH OF JULY (Because we all are winners) If you encountered roadblocks on your way home tonight, would you put a "For Sale" sign on your car and give up? Why is it that if you encountered unexpected roadblocks on your way home tonight, it would never occur to you to simply give up trying to get there? It might take you longer, but you'd find some other way to make it home, wouldn't you? I believe this is because you have a crystal-clear picture of your goal in mind and you also have unshakable confidence in your ability to achieve it. Confidence alone without the picture won't get you there, and neither will the picture without the belief in yourself. But together, they are an unbeatable combination. When you discover this hypothetical obstacle, a way around it might not be immediately clear to you. You could be in an unfamiliar area or completely unaware of alternate routes, but that wouldn't stop you, would it? You would figure out the "how-to" as you went along. You would ask for help, borrow a map, and, one way or another, you would reach your goal. The same is true of any goal you set in life. You don't have to know exactly how you are going to achieve it at the time you set the goal. In fact, if you expand your goals beyond what you know how to make happen, and if you hold a picture of the end-result you want vividly in your mind - refusing to give up until you achieve it - you set a powerful process in motion that will help you with the "how."

      • Thanks for dropping in all mighty wise owl Randil from PA. Yeah who know maybe some day I'll have that recording, that everyone has heard of either from myself or done from someone else. In the mean time I'll keep working on my art and touring cafe and open mic nights. Thanks for reading my monthy inspiration for the greater good. Have a great summer, and zune on my friend

      • WELCOME TO THE WINNERS CIRCLE FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE. (BECAUSE WERE ALL WINNERS) This came to me one night while watching the world turn. If you see something violent in a movie or on TV and you imitate it who is responsible? This is an interesting question, and one that bears some serious thought. If a kidnapper imitates something she saw in a movie, are the moviemakers responsible for her actions? Not as far as I'm concerned. If a murderer says he was inspired by something he saw on a TV show, is the TV show responsible? I sure don't think so. Now, don't get me wrong. I believe our entertainment media should aim for high-quality productions that improve character and inspire us to live better lives. But the best way to ensure that this happens is to "vote with your feet" so to speak. In other words, refrain from buying products sponsoring shows that conflict with your moral values, and write to the sponsors telling them how you feel. The same goes for movies. Don't plunk your money down at the box office if you're concerned about the movie's message, no matter how long the lines are to get in the door. And let's not be confused about personal accountability, either. Except in the case of a genuine and serious mental illness, each of us is responsible for our own actions, no matter what the circumstances. It does no one any good to blame a TV show, a movie, the media, the so-called "system," or society in general for individual acts of violence or immorality. Personal accountability is the cornerstone of a healthy society just as it is an essential part of a healthy individual

      • THE WINNERS CIRCLE FOR THE MONTH OF MAY (BECAUSE WE ALL ARE WINNERS) WELCOME. I wasn't sure if I had a subject for this month. I was hitting writers blocks left and right. Comfort is normally a good thing, but when comfort becomes complacency,we're in trouble. All of us have seen what happens to certain celebrities and athletes who reach a certain level of success and then just stop. They are those used-to-be stars about whom people say, "I wonder what ever happened to so-and-so?" Well, what usually happened was that they became complacent, and then they stopped working, stopped stretching, and stopped growing. Singer song writer Bob Dylan said, "He who's not busy being born is busy dying." Now, it's true that sometimes we need to take time to rest - to lie back, contemplate, reflect, even to heal. But if your intention is to be truly alive, you use that time to gather your energies for new growth, new movement, and new accomplishments. Someone once asked Ray Kroc, founder of McDonald's, for the one piece of advice that would guarantee a successful life. Kroc said, "When you're green, you grow. When you ripen, you rot." He was talking about an attitude, not an age. You see, it comes down to a choice. Every experience can be an opportunity for new growth, or it can be an excuse for decay. It is up to you. Success can be a springboard to greater things, or it can be a resting-place. But if it is a resting-place, chances are you won't keep that level of success for long
