I'm with you on that. It's all about appreciating the talent and the music and not about whether they fit the "right" genre or style. Only a couple more weeks... Yay!
That's so funny because I feel the same way. I'm not going to argue with my friend or try to change his mind because I know it won't work. It really bugs me too.
It's amazing that Thrice is able to be so diverse in their music and yet they are so damn good. I love their earlier stuff as well but I felt that Vheissu really showed just how talented they are. I'm glad that they haven't given into pressure from both fans and record labels alike and make music that was expected of them but instead made the music that they wanted to that actually means something to them.
He told me that he really hasn't been that into them since Vheissu which it blows my mind how anybody cannot love that cd! That was the cd that made me fall in love with Thrice and they became my favorite band. He's just one that wants them to rock the way they did on the first 3 cd's. It's really too bad.
I'm looking forward to having the cd in my possession and having the lyrics and everything. I know a lot of people that want them to go back to their earlier style but hopefully they'll give this a chance. As much as I love their earlier music, it's amazing that they've been able to make the changes they have and just seem to keep getting better.
I didn't even see that it was streaming on their myspace page until this morning and unfortunately at work I can't access it. I have it playing now though. I'm really liking it. At The Last is my favorite. I felt a little guilty downloading it but I'm definitely buying it.
So I downloaded some Authority Zero and I like it. I only listened to the most recent cd so far but I'll be listening to the rest of it. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm always looking for something new to listen to. Did you download the new Thrice? I tried not to but I have no will power when it comes to them...
