      • Re: The Incident. After 2 weeks of solid listening and seeing it performed live, I do also think it is their best piece of work. And as you said that is nothing to sneeze at. Brilliant in fact, I'd put it up there with anything by Floyd or Genesis. Well see how I feel in a year, but the more I listen the more I incredible and stunning I think it is.

      • I totally agree with u Daedalus 9...Insurgentes it is in fact a "masterpiece" and for what Porcupine Tree concerns I go to their concerts all the time here in Montreal, and actually Montreal in general it's a PT Territory....

      • Upon further listening it has become clear the album (Insurgentes) is an aural masterpiece. I'm simply blown away (now) by it. I am a bit surprised because I'm a little ambivalent about Wilson's work outside PT. BTW, if you pre-order the regular release from Burningshed apparently you get to download mp3s of it now!!!!

      • I just got it (Insurgentes) today and listened to it once. On first listen I like it, but it doesn't blow me away. I have a feeling it will take time to grow. It is very, very eclectic and very different than most of Wilson's stuff though you can hear similar influeneces. The package for the pre-release is just stunning. It was worth every penny. If you want it you'll have to pay big bucks on ebay. I heard it's been going for over $500 now.

      • 13th Star is definitely worth giving the time. I've been listening to it a ton in my car. Good driving music. It's funny...you said the same thing I did about Somewhere Else...such a disappointment after Marbles. Marbles is one of their best IMHO. It was nice that they were able to get over here for that tour. And, yeah, I'm disappointed I can't make the convention.

      • Unfortunately I can't make the convention. I saw Fish this summer at NEARfest. Great show. As for Marillion's new album, I just downloaded it today for the first time. I like the second set much more than the first. The first follows too much in the footsteps of Somewhere Else which I simply never got into. Now, Fish on the other hand...13th Star is outstanding! What do you think?

      • Awesome taste in music! Thanks for the add! Did you catch Fish when he was here this past summer?

      • What I heard of the webcast I liked. It kept dropping on us. Have to admit, never particularly a huge ASIA fan, but great respect for the musicians..that came through in the webcast pretty well.

      • Did you catch the live Asia Webcast on Tuesday? Broadcast from a show in New York. Very cool.
