      • WELCOME TO THE WINNERS CIRCLE FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 09 (Because we all are wiiners) HELLO TO ALL ZUNE MEMBERS AND WINNER CIRCLE MONTHLY READERS. NAMASTE. THANK-YOU YOU ALL FOR GRACIOUS COMMENTS, AND SUPPORT FOR THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF. A SHOUT OUT TO THE NOVEMBER HAPPY HOLIDAYS LIKE ALL SAINTS DAY, ALL SOULS DAY, REMEMBRANCE DAY, THANKSGIVING DAY AND THE ISLAMIC HOLIDAY EID AL ADHA, AND THE JEWISH HOLIDAYS, HANUKKAH / CHANUKAH. "Hope and the Environment" is the topic this month. Do you listen to people who say we have polluted our environment past the point of hope? I don't, and I'll tell you why. There are some doom and gloom environmentalists and others out there, who, for their own misguided reasons, would rob the rest of us of hope. I believe that a hopeless attitude is just as dangerous as anything we could do to pollute the environment. Hopelessness is like a lethal nerve gas - it prevents us from seeing the kind of world we want for our children and grandchildren, and then doing what we need to do to create it. Hopelessness will kill the dream of a healthy planet quicker than all the holes in the ozone layer and all the chemicals released into the atmosphere put together. To hope is not foolish. If you look for reasons to despair, you will find them. But if you choose, instead, to look for reasons to hope, you will find them also. Why not collect hopeful signs, like some folks collect stamps, coins or baseball cards? Then, when you hear people saying that it doesn't matter what we do, because it is too late to save the environment, tell them they are wrong. Prove it with examples from your collection. Yes, there is work to be done and we will find the tools to use. Each of us can make a difference - you can make a difference!

      • WELCOME TO THE WINNER CIRCLE FOR THE MONTH OF JULY (Because we all are winners) If you encountered roadblocks on your way home tonight, would you put a "For Sale" sign on your car and give up? Why is it that if you encountered unexpected roadblocks on your way home tonight, it would never occur to you to simply give up trying to get there? It might take you longer, but you'd find some other way to make it home, wouldn't you? I believe this is because you have a crystal-clear picture of your goal in mind and you also have unshakable confidence in your ability to achieve it. Confidence alone without the picture won't get you there, and neither will the picture without the belief in yourself. But together, they are an unbeatable combination. When you discover this hypothetical obstacle, a way around it might not be immediately clear to you. You could be in an unfamiliar area or completely unaware of alternate routes, but that wouldn't stop you, would it? You would figure out the "how-to" as you went along. You would ask for help, borrow a map, and, one way or another, you would reach your goal. The same is true of any goal you set in life. You don't have to know exactly how you are going to achieve it at the time you set the goal. In fact, if you expand your goals beyond what you know how to make happen, and if you hold a picture of the end-result you want vividly in your mind - refusing to give up until you achieve it - you set a powerful process in motion that will help you with the "how."

      • THE WINNERS CIRCLE FOR THE MONTH OF MAY (BECAUSE WE ALL ARE WINNERS) WELCOME. I wasn't sure if I had a subject for this month. I was hitting writers blocks left and right. Comfort is normally a good thing, but when comfort becomes complacency,we're in trouble. All of us have seen what happens to certain celebrities and athletes who reach a certain level of success and then just stop. They are those used-to-be stars about whom people say, "I wonder what ever happened to so-and-so?" Well, what usually happened was that they became complacent, and then they stopped working, stopped stretching, and stopped growing. Singer song writer Bob Dylan said, "He who's not busy being born is busy dying." Now, it's true that sometimes we need to take time to rest - to lie back, contemplate, reflect, even to heal. But if your intention is to be truly alive, you use that time to gather your energies for new growth, new movement, and new accomplishments. Someone once asked Ray Kroc, founder of McDonald's, for the one piece of advice that would guarantee a successful life. Kroc said, "When you're green, you grow. When you ripen, you rot." He was talking about an attitude, not an age. You see, it comes down to a choice. Every experience can be an opportunity for new growth, or it can be an excuse for decay. It is up to you. Success can be a springboard to greater things, or it can be a resting-place. But if it is a resting-place, chances are you won't keep that level of success for long

      • I've decided to change the message name from Words Of Wisdom to The Winners Network Because were all winners WELCOME TO THE WINNERS NETWORK FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH I was meditating the other day and this message came to me High achievers are a lot like mountain climbers. When you think about mountain climbing, maybe your stomach does a little flip-flop, like mine. But, you know, people who are successful in life are really a lot like mountain climbers. They don't start out climbing Mount Everest. Instead, they train and practice on smaller slopes until they build the skills and confidence to move on to bigger challenges. When they choose a goal, they map out a plan and, as much as possible, they follow it. They equip themselves as well as they possibly can and they learn from the competition. They fully expect to run into problems, so when they do, it doesn't throw them. They deal with them as best they can and move on. They keep their fear and negative thinking under control because they know that these things will defeat them more certainly than any avalanche. They also understand the importance of persistence and tenacity. And finally, every now and then they bite off a little more than they are absolutely certain they can chew. Like a mountain climber friends of mine once said, when there's no place to go but up, you go up. Now, you may not want to conquer Everest, but I'll bet there's a mountain in your life just calling out to be climbed. And, you know, I'll bet you can do it.
