By AngelFire IV 11/1/2009 04:05:48
U2 is the best rock band of their generation. Their are a few good ones who come close but they are the best. Such a unique and original band!

Never will forget the time

By iFroggie 8/13/2009 03:58:13
I still remember the very 1st time hearing this new group out of, Ireland back in 1980 on the LA, CA Radio Stations. I have been a big fan of U2 like all of us....

Funny, the time when we had no CD players or MP3 and PC's

The song was, "I will Follow"

I said to myself, now here is a band that will make it to the charts and make an impact to our world.

Similar Artists / G.M.A.

By tolewfo 3/9/2009 20:20:17
The Alarm has a very similar sound to U2.  They were friends and toured together at one point.  I believe if The Alarm would have stayed together they would be just as successful.  I thought they sounded great this morning on Good Morning America.  It's great to see thousands of people show up to support the band.

And not only are they still rocking after 3 decades, I can't think of another band that has been around as long as they have that still have their original line up.  I think that speaks volumes.

U2 Fan

By JayCz2ndTry 3/9/2009 04:23:09
U2 didn't care what was "going on" around them in the 80's and gave my generation its own Abbey Road with the Joshua Tree.  They are still selling records at incredible numbers in their third decade.  I think I'm sorry is just that....sorry.

u-2 fanatic

By u2fanatic 1/21/2009 17:48:18
u-2 is one of the original bands of the 80's that still rock  when on tour the four u-2 members get 1 million a show EACH  thats 4 mill per show total  they played 300 cities last tour  then they give 10 % each  member to poor countries  wow u-do the math but thats a lot of loot...cudos to u-2  and good luck at the grammys next week...

similar artists

By JCtheEE 12/12/2008 04:11:51
I think the point of the similar artists is to show artists that were contemporaries of U2, not necessarily the same sound(like Coldplay). The other bands are all 80's and all had a sort of European sound. That's pretty much where the similarities end.
