Nobody has mentioned A Northern Soul.... I love ALL their albums, but that one speaks to me the most probably. Listen to Life's An Ocean again if you haven't lately.

Forth is First

By RENE9A6E 6/17/2009 09:49:55
I've been listening to Forth ever since last Halloween. I remember how shocked I was to find a NEW Verve CD on the shelf. Not since Urban Hymns came out had they made one (unless you count greatest hits). I just about peed my pants for how excited I was. I rarely purchased brand new CD's at this point. Thing is, I only by em when I really really like a band and want to support them. Well....there it is. You don't get much better then the Verve (except for maybe Oasis). What amazed me even more....it was one of their best albums ever...at least up there with A Storm in Heaven and Urban Hymn. Anyways, if you haven't hear it...buy it, and, if you want more Ashcroft greatness, check his solo work out. It's not quite as good, but its still amazing....Richard is by far one of the most excellent vocalists of our time. I wish more people knew about him :(  (and I mean other then Bittersweet which everyone can't seem to realize is NOT by the Verve Pipe....two entirely different bands).

A Storm In Heaven is one of the best albums of the 90's...very underated....a mellow, shoegazzy dream from start to finish....they never made a better album

If you don't have Urban Hymns you're missing one of the all-time classic albums. Start there.
