Evolve

By RZAINS 8/29/2009 15:33:33
Musicians evolve people, every album sounds different, than the one before in slight ways, more some than others. If you are a true fan of a band you will accept it. Like when Tool came out with 10,000 days, it took me 5 times of listening to the album straight through to like any of it.

how can people say "oh i love the smashing pumpkins and every single album EXCEPT Zeitgeist" that album isn't that bad, just like any other artist they just simply tried something a lil different. SP is awesome regardless. if you say you like all their stuff then why exclude Zeitgeist.

The Mozart of the 90's

By MooKooJoe 10/8/2008 00:05:15
In the words of Albert Einstein, some things already exist, and just need to be found. That's what Billy Corgan did with The Smashing Pumpkins. They found their music, in the beginning, but then they took it too far and tried to create to much, rather than look for what was already there. The early days, the lyrics, the sound, the wholeness was all there, and still it's beautiful, and always will be. Why do we still listen to Mozart and Bach? Because it's pure. Something that was found, that was already there, just waiting to be discovered. Untouched really by the mind of the human being.

I like through the eyes of ruby off of mellon collie - also it does not get any better than the twilight to starlight side as far as alternative music goes

one and two

By PICKLEStheCAT 7/5/2008 04:46:59
I dont mean to rival any of my fellow pumpkins fans or start argument here at all, but...

I dunno, I love fucking Siamese Dream, but some of the single songs along on Mellon Collie are so epic themselves, the alone could go head to head with the entire album, though it would be a close race. Also the bio of this band on this site is bullshit in general, and that was gathered by reading the last couple paragraphs.

I will gladly be challenged to that second point, any observer of the "grunge" bullshit era could do so.

Siamese Dream = Best Album

By indmusic 5/7/2008 01:22:11
Siamese Dream is one of those albums that will ALWAYS be mentioned in with great albums of the 1990's. Corgan and Co. were really on the top of their game with this one.
