Glenn was and is the Misfits. It is obvious Glenn was the key member. He spawned the Misfits, Samhain and of course Danzig the band. The rebirth of the Misfits was just ok for it's short time. New Misfits was more metal than punk. What matters is they are a legends in music.
In an interview, J.Only said it didn't matter who was in the band for it to be The Misfits. I think he is right. The Misfits are larger than a band or any one player. They are an idea, a shared culture. The "Danzig" Misfits helped lay the groundwork of that idea by fusing together the right things to create a musical genre that will remain timeless & will constantly be re-invented by those who understand that idea. If you are trying to point at one thing and say "that's the Misfits," I think you are overlooking the larger picture. Just my opinion on one of the most important bands of the 21st century.
i dont know what people are talking about glen danzig sings like crap, graves took the misfits way further and is a much better singer for the misfits. american psyco and famous monsters are there best works and guess who not yelling into the mic on those records glen danzig
I don't know why but when I first heard the Misfits I automatically thought "This is my band." I felt like this band was a blessing from God. That's kind of odd when you consider song titles like Hellhound, Devilock, and From Hell They Came. I've always loved horror movies and when I heard this band I thought it was the perfect soudtrack for my favorite horror flicks.
