Definitely the best.

By VMO13 11/23/2009 00:54:07
The Doors are probably one of the best bands to ever grace the planet. Jim Morrison's lyrics were haunting and beautiful, they were poetry. I don't know what it is about them but they are awesome. I don't think they have one bad song. There will never be any band as good. Long live the Lizard King!

"The End" was beautiful

By Helmsly95 5/24/2009 15:40:35
I remember first hearing about Jim Morrison from that WWE character John Morrison back in mid-2007, around the time they released another Doors greatest hits album. From that point on, Morrison has become such a fascinating figure to me. I've just fallen in love with the music of The Doors. And one of my favorite tracks is "The End", because I love long monolithic rockers.

Could it be any better?

Jim Morrison is my idol.  The frontman of one of my favorite bands and the sexual revolution of the 60s and what a timely death, young albeit.  A brilliant poet with a beautiful voice.  And who else would strip on national TV, get a BJ in an elevator, and get arrested on stage for indecent exposure?  Rest in peace, Jim.
Ray Manzarek was something else oh man what brilliant song writing, Light My Fire is a masterpiece. Robby Krieger was so damn good they didn't even need a bassist.  And I thank John Densmore for the biography.

Dead on

By Freaktastic1138 9/22/2008 17:54:23
Hey man, I couldn't agree more about The Doors and Jimbo. In their time, they were the epitome of everything California, and in turn, the late 1960's movement from Peace/Love, to the very beginnings of Punk.

It's sad nowadays when Manzarek and Krieger have to resort to having someone else "ape" Jim in both appearance and stage style, just to try and earn another dime. Sadly, the "new" Doors... suck!

Unique artists...

The Doors definately had a unique sound. Morrison's voice and strange poetry made each song interesting to listen to.

Morrison a Visionary

By WJGaines 7/9/2008 04:52:22
Jim Morrison possessed an unmistakable charisma that is rarely matched amongst performance artists.  Ray Manzarek's keyboard is pretty special too...
