Ben Hall co-founded Australian hard rock quartet
the Butterfly Effect in Brisbane in 2001. By year's end the group issued its self-titled debut EP, which quickly entered steady rotation on the influential Aussie radio outlet Triple J and eventually sold in excess of 10,000 copies, thanks also to
the Butterfly Effect's relentless tour schedule. After scoring a mainstream hit single with "Crave," the band began work on its first full-length effort, issuing
Begins Here in mid-2003. The album debuted at number 24 on the Australian charts, galvanized by the hit "Always."
The Butterfly Effect's 2006 sophomore effort,
Imago, proved even more successful, yielding the Top Ten hit "A Slow Descent." ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
