Adventures in Lo-fi

By GlobalaGoGo 10/28/2008 02:26:56
I got hooked into Amanset when I was listening to Bedhead. They had one of the best rhythm sections going.  Their music was analog to the point of hearing the guitar swishes on certain songs.  This was music made for the love of the art, the great indie ethos--living room recordigs that could change your perspective on lo-fi.

Favorite Band, Hands Down

Amanset captured my ear in the late 90s, with the Dr. Pepper jingle. However, through the years, their development as artists, Andrew Kenny's side collaborations, and alluring percussion locked me in as a fan. I highly recommend seeing any of their live shows, especially if you are a fan of Minus the Bear, Album Leaf, and Pinback - all of whom spent time on tour with Amanset.
