Oakland rock band
Street to Nowhere had originally formed during high school. After graduation, however, the bandmembers went their separate ways, leaving singer/guitarist
Dave Smallen to continue under the band name, playing solo acoustic shows. He assembled a new lineup that included drummer
Joey Bustos (ex-
Link 80,
Desa), guitarist
Will Hauser, and bassist
Bryce Freeman. In November 2005,
Street to Nowhere released their first album,
Charmingly Awkward. In June 2006 they signed to Capitol, which reissued the album a few months later. The group has shared stages with bands such as
the Format,
Gomez,
Two Gallants,
OK Go, and
Reel Big Fish. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, All Music Guide
