Stevie, the blind wonder, his songs are legendary and copied by some of today's artists. I wish that I could sound like Stevie, singing the notes as he does with a easy flow by inspiring words. A legend that's all you see when you say Stevie.
Some of my earliest Stevie Wonder memories come from sitting in my Grandmama's living room and listening to his latest vinyl releases. The family would gather around for a huge helping of funk, synthesized grooves, and lyrics so unabashed and genuine that you could almost feel embarassed for him if he'd missed the mark. He seldom did. Stevie Wonder has been the socially conscious, genre exploring musical force that expanded music into an electronic age. Think about it. How much synth did you hear before him that didn't sound like some sort of experiment? Stevie made that synthesizer groove.Talking Book is one of my favorite albums of all time by any artist. If you want to hear relevant music, give A Time 4 Love a listen and you'll be dipping your feet into the undercurrent that drove the last election. Stevie is a master musician and you have to listen beyond just Superstition.
