I've listened to Rev Theory in a large concert venue, small venue, and all their music over and over. They have it all. The front man, Rich, has a voice that is powerful on the hard hitting rock songs like Light It Up, yet spine chilling on Broken bones and Ten Years. Dave is all over the drums. His drum sets are always right there, and drives every song. Listen to his drums on Wanted Man and Falling Down. Julien and Rikki are always so incredible on the guitars. Rikki's lead is quick and hits you right between the eyes (Hell Yeah!). Julien's riffs are awesome. His guitar sounds so full and he is also driving each and every song. Matt is the mind numbing bassist and is so energetic, he is fun to just watch. And I don't think he could smile on stage if he tried.
Together, this group is one of those few hidden gems that sooner or later, and I'm betting sooner, everyone is going know them and want them on their bill. Their last CD, Light It Up, is one of the best CD's I've listen to in years. Every song on the CD gets in your head. And your favorite song will change every day.
Get the CD, you won't be disappointed.
