pat benatar / comments

I remember the start of MTV and Pat Benetar being an artist staple at the time. I have followed her career from 1979s In the Heat of the Night through Go. I have her entire studio catalog and have seen her in concert twice. She along with Chrissy Hinds of the Pretenders and Stevie Nicks of  Fleetwood Mac open the door for female rock stars. They showed the world that they could rock just as well as or in some cases better then the boys.

From her first release, I've loved her.  And to this day, she's one of the most identifiable female voices in music.  But you simply cannot give her all the credit for all the years of incredible music.  Neil... he's awesome, and deserves so much of the credit and respect.  They truly make an amazing couple both in their personal lives, as well as through their creative partnership.

My personal favs were always ALL of Get Nervous (not a bad note throughout), and Side 1 of Tropico.  But then she released Gravity's Rainbow and Innamorata, which contain some of the greatest songs she's ever recorded.

Pat is timeless.

I just love her songs and  voice! One of the best singer.
