we never fail!

manson can never fail. jjust because some little kids get disappointed cuz they want to hear the same sounds on every album doesnt mean when an artist changes his sound a little that its a fail. it means its time to evolve and change and not do the same thing all the time.
manson lovers know the truth

...all the things you hate!!

By whacktose 5/18/2009 18:49:35
Can't believe how misunderstood this guy is. Yeah, he's a freak of the highest order but all the left wing idiots think he is a devil worshipper. Come on people, it's all for show. Listen to his lyrics and you'll see that he is actually very smart. His music is sick as hell!!!

Azarak, you've been hit by the folly of mislabeled mp3s of the pirate scene. tsk tsk. the band that did that cover is called Dope, from the album Felons and Revolutionaries. they don't really sound anything like Manson.

i've been a fan of Manson's work for about 2 decades now and i personally think Golden Age of Grotesque was an amazing record. a true artist doesn't put out the same album over and over. they evolve. Manson evolves constantly (taking after Bowie) and Mechanical Animals is still one of my all time favorite records. departure from tradition is not readily accepted by the masses, but for those of us who understand that life is in constant flux, his albums will remain in our hearts and transport us through times of our lives.

I've been following Manson since the"Lunchbox" single first came out.  At the time, at least to me, it was mindblowing.  The energy and raw power was great.  Then the full album came out and it just expanded on the single.  I must've listened to it a million times and I proved just how durable CD's are.  To continue the buzz going they released the lp "Smells like Children" which helped them blow up with their reimagining of "Sweet Dreams (are made of this)".  This all set the stage for the monster hit album "AntiChrist Superstar" which cleaned up the raw, punk feel of the prior album and injected Trent Reznor's industrial ethos.
This where things got interesting.  Manson and co. followed this up with "Mechanical Albums" a real 180 from the industrial/ metal route that they seemed to be heading towards. The reaction to this was really mixed.  Critics seemed to love it but the fans were conflicted.  Personally I loved it and thought it showed a real growth which I hoped they would follow.  Unfortunately, it seemed that they had a knee jerk reaction to criticism and Manson tried to crank out a rather formulaic, soulless album, "Holy Wood".  It returned more to the metal, angry anthems that were successful in the past.  I don't know how this album did but I think unless if you're a hardcore Manson fan, don't' bother with it. Aside from the singles, there ain't much to see there.  The two full albums since then have shown little growth and just safe experimentation.  Although enjoyable, there doesn't seem to be much new being offered by Mr. Manson and friends.  Hopefully the 40 year old Manson will drop the teen angst of his prior albums and wow us with the energy and experimentation he's shown he is capable of with his new album.

grow up.

Everyone has their own opinion. I love Manson, and anyone who doesn't can keep it that way, because I don't care. It's about personal interests, not what other people think.

Who is honestly going to give a shit about someone saying they're a douche for what they listen to, over the internet?

Think about it.
