biography

Colombian heavy metal foursome la Pestilencia was formed by singer Dilson Díaz, guitarist Francisco Nieto, bassist Héctor Buitrago, and drummer Jorge León. The group made their debut in 1988 with the release of La Muerte Un Compromiso De Todos. After drummer Germán Duran replaced Jorge León and bassist Juan Gómez took Héctor Buitrago's place, the band recorded Las Nuevas Aventuras De La Pestilencia, released in 1993. Guitarist Carlos Escobar and drummer Marcelo Gómez joined in to make la Pestilencia's third album, called El Amarillista. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
