They didn't try to be famous

Jethro Tull, it seems, wrote their music and played it completely for fun and to entertain their fans.  It really doesn't seem like they tried to hard to be some famous big hit band.  It's quite admirable that they didn't abandon their unique music to write pop-like songs which would sell more.

Not enough credit is given to Jethro Tull, they have a very unique sound provided by Ian Anderson's voice and flute that is taken for granted.  You know a band has to rock hard when they are comfortable throwing some flute at you!
