He simply B4 anybody else!!!

By Lester1058 1/13/2009 09:34:57
Simply put...He changed the way music was PLAYED and performed....I've seen JB in his heyday at The Apollo and Madison Square Garden...NO ONE and I mean NO ONE came close to his stage presence...H e could be imitated BUT he could NOT be DUPLICATED...and many folks tried!!!.....If there is EVER a moutain range like Mt.Rushmore BUT would have to be changed to Mt. Funkmore he would be there in the middle....and along with him on Mt. Funkmore would be...Sly Stone...George Clinton...AND....Prince...just my thoughts...

Fulfilled the American Dream

By JCtheEE 11/12/2008 04:30:20
The Godfather of Soul came up from humble beginnings and worked his talents for all they were worth. In the early days of his career, segregation made it impossible for him to even have his face on his album covers, but he steadily built a following. Hits like Sex Machine, The Big Payback(with my favorite line,"I don't know Karate, but I know Ca-razy!") and The Boss are as funky as funk was ever made. With a decade spanning career and a legendary live show, the Hardest Working Man in Show Business left behind a contribution to R&B and Soul music that may never be topped.

legend: the sixties, riots, i'm not sure, l.a? (watts): jb is scheduled to play a stage in boston; the people there were filled with anxiety and the sharp possibility of civil unrest was in the air. once he gets on the stage, [SEX MACHINE] it's ovah!: everybody stops 'f''in sniveling and gets their fucking grooves on.

that's jb

jem
