initial injection

By proddity 9/22/2009 10:22:49
well, having listened to all the albums now, here's my personal recommendations for people just getting started. as a pretty nice initial injection (congratulations by the way) Imegaphone, has Oh Me, Oh My. the Goodnight and Go single CD had bonus track called Speeding Cars. Speak For Yourself has Daylight Robbery, And Just for now (which is absolutely amazing live, i recommend you find a video even) And finally Ellipse has a song called Aha! you'd be hard pressed to find anyone as dedicated to the actual music then this pretty young lady. THIS is what music sounds like when it has heart.

Trancing/A Song for Everyone

By LG135 2/28/2009 19:58:26
If you're a fan of frou frou and can't get enough of their sound, Imogen Heap's Speak for Yourself will be your curing drug. It sounds similar to Details, but with a little flair that only immi can give on her own : ) I recommend Headlock, Clear the Area, The Walk, and The Moment I Said It (if you watched the OC no doubt you've heard Goodnight and Go and Hide and Seek already, also good ones). If you want a little more angst and immi at a lower range, definitely try I Megaphone. In terms of timeline, it's b.f. (before frou), while Speak is a.d. (after disbandment) - I recommend Useless, Rake it In, and Come Here Boy. Don't miss out on her collab work either, which includes Urban Species, IAMX, Blue October, Temposhark, and some outside work with Guy Sigworth(Meantime is AMAZING.. in terms of vocals it's like in between IMeg and Details).
If you've actually heard of Imogen, like her work, and haven't heard her frou frou stuff... just stop whatever you're playing now, and go listen.

What I love most about Imogen, is that 1) she has The 3 down - the lyrics, the vocals, and the music are all actually good! And 2) there's a song (or 3) for everyone. In the words similar of Lori Lieberman, it's like s(he) found my (journals) and read each one out loud... amazing : )

Hypnotic voice!

By Melacanth 2/7/2009 08:22:14
This is the voice behind the somewhat
short lived band Frou Frou and as you can probably tell it is one of the best voices out there. If the sirens from greek mythology really existed this it what they would sound like. And honestly wouldn't you
want this to be the last voice you heard as you were being lured to
your death? Recommended album "I megaphone" favorite song "let go" (i know it's a frou frou song but i love her voice on it)

Love Imogen

By EGumz 1/10/2009 17:38:04
I love goodnight and go, it reminds me of a crush I had. Totally stalkerish, but what girl can't relate ;) Hide and seek used to make me cry, same with the moment I said it. She has a voice and lyrics that make you shudder.

Its difficult to really find artist who's song are worth paying attention to. Imogen heap in one of those few... I highly recommend the song "Loose Ends" and "The Walk" from her "Speak For Yourself" Album
