biography

A tenor saxophonist best known for being part of Woody Herman's Second Herd section alongside Stan Getz, Zoot Sims, and Serge Chaloff. Steward had a nice tone, interacted well, and was an above-average soloist. He has few albums in print at present. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
