Franz was the son of
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Constanze Mozart. He was a composer and pianist and recieved his first instruction from Niemetschek.
Franz Xaver also studied with
Neukomm, Streicher,
Hummel,
Salieri,
Vogler and
Albrechtsberger and lived with the Dusek family. Positions which
Mozart maintained included tutor in the Baworowski family, music teacher in the home of Janiszewski, freelance musician in Lemberg, concert pianist on tour, and, after settling in Vienna, he became an honorary Kapellmeister. The Congregation at Saint Cecilia's in Rome made him an honorary master of composition. Genres of
Mozart's compositions included piano, vocal and instrumental works. His piano works demonstrated the influence of
Hummel in their exceptional structures. Franz Xaver's Second Piano Concerto is one of the best examples of his work. ~ Keith Johnson, All Music Guide
