vs. plans.
the intro is not unnecessary, it is repeated over and over to get one into the mood of the song. i love it, others may not. it just depends on if you can get into the writer's head and depict how he was feeling at the time the song was made. same goes for marching bands of Manhattan, one just needs to try to put themselves into the writer's shoes and then one can understand why so much emphasis is put on "your love is going to drown"

narrow stairs vs. plans...

narrow stairs was a step forward from plans, but I Will Possess Your Heart was 8:35 LONG!!! the intro was an unnecessary 5 MINUTES LONG!!! Marching Bands of Manhattan repeats the SAME LYRICS OVER and OVER again near the end, but these MINOR flaws are made up by every other song on the album (except the album credits! lol) i really like twin sized bed and pity and fear with no sunlight included also...hopefully on death cab's next album they'll be a little more conservative on the time of the songs, because they would improve even more from their already set awesomeness...play on death cab, i'm waiting for more
