biography

A contemporary jazz and fusion band led by saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi. The first recording they made titled Con Brio was issued in 1983. It also included bassist Bruce Gertz and drummer Jeff Williams. the trio made others recordings with Bob Gullotti and Williams alternating on drums, and guitarist Mick Goodrick on board for the third album The Ray. Bergonzi went on to make other duo and quartet recordings without The Con Brio tag. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
