biography
Formed in 2008, the hard-rocking "supergroup" Chickenfoot features the talents of vocalist Sammy Hagar (Van Halen, Montrose), bass player Michael Anthony (Van Halen), drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani. Formed out of a series of impromptu jams at Hagar's club, Cabo Wabo Cantina, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the band made its live debut at a 2008 Hagar solo show in Las Vegas before deciding to take its signature blend of high-energy rock & roll, funk, blues, and roots rock into the studio. Chickenfoot released its eponymous debut album in 2009, followed by a worldwide tour. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide

- Saw Chickenfoot last night at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and have to say what disappointment they were. No one can fault the musicianship of this band. Satriani is up there with Malmsteen, Vai and Eddie Van Halen, etc., Michael Anthony was faultlessly chugging along on the Bass and Hagar is always the capable vocalist. But where was the passion? Where was the enthusiasm? Where was the hunger? All I saw were four multimillionaires onstage playing as if they didn’t really give a sh*t. And why was the PA so quiet? For me, the highlight of the night had to be the encore of Deep Purple’s ‘Highway Star’. I so wanted to enjoy last night’s performance and can only hope that if they do a full tour next time round and I can catch them on a better night...

- Wow!!! Fantastic stuff, how couldn't it be. Finally, a rock album in todays music where American Idol rules..???? No pop pretty stuff here...only good old rock and roll and it's about time. Thanks guys. Album of the year!!!!!
