biography

Dubbed "the Mixtape Messiah," Houston's Chamillionaire arrived late as a major-label artist during his city's 2005 takeover of mainstream rap -- the Top Ten Sound of Revenge, released during November that year, followed albums from Mike Jones, Slim Thug, and former Color Changin' Click partner Paul Wall -- but he had already built a loyal following outside the South and received significant print coverage. Through a prolific succession of mixtapes, Chamillionaire (born Hakeem Sediki) became known for his deep, versatile voice (he sings his own hooks very effectively) and lyrical ability. Originally part of Swishahouse, he switched to Paid in Full, where he and Paul Wall collaborated on 2002's Get Ya Mind Correct -- an album that sold 100,000 copies. Prior to inking his deal with Universal, he founded the Chamilitary label and began grooming the careers of brother Rasaq and 50/50 Twin. "Ridin'," off The Sound of Revenge, reached the top of the Billboard singles chart and was later nominated for a pair of Grammy Awards.   - I really am a huge Chamillionaire fan, I was jammin his shit way back in Swish House days but I have to say his past two mixtapes were not the shit I was used to hearing Koopa rap about. I think he might be losing his touch. But I hope he brings that fire with MM7 and Venom. He needs to come with full fource.

  - cham is without a doubt the best rapper alive. he is unlike anyone in the way he switches rhyme schemes and his play on words are pure genius.His voice when he sings his hooks is so deep and amazing. ive been listening to him for years now and have yet to hear any1 come close to his lyrical abilities and flow. and he is very consistant the way he drops mixtapes steady.there is no reason he should be overlooked. Cham isnt just rap its poetry and life. fuck popular fools like lil wayne and shit. thats not rap thats club shit. Im glad cham hasnt fully blown up because if u dont fully respect his music and every word he spits then im glad u dont listen to him. HE IS THA TRUTH. he is way more mature than rappers today pretendin to be something their not.cham stays cool and keeps his mind correct. CCC 4 life!
