biography

A rare jazz French horn player and soloist, Bob Northern AKA Brother Anhh was among the busiest session musicians of the '50s and '60s. He worked and recorded with numerous jazz stars, among them Donald Byrd, John Coltrane, Gil Evans, Sun Ra, Gil Evans, McCoy Tyner, Rahsaan Roland Kirk and the Jazz Composers Orchestra. He did some recording for small independents as Brother Anhh in the '70s. None of those dates are available, but he can be heard on reissues by Evans, Kirk, Ra and others. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
