animal collective / comments

I just got this album and I must say it is phenomenal! So far it's been on repeat since I've gotten it. I agree with willett25 that this will be a very, very successful release for them. Make sure to check them out live on David Letterman tonight!

if i didn't have a zune, or the zune social...this band would go unnoticed by my sheer musical kook-ness, their melodic tones and musical genius in the songs they make attracted me to listen to them more...animal collective, 2nd favorite with say anything being the first, soooo original
ANIMAL COLLECTIVE FTW!!!

i fucking love animal collective and can thoroughly enjoy any of their music without needing to be on any type of drug. BUT... i have to say, their music is so suitable to set the mood for a good trip. and it's also great to chill and smoke bud to!

thank you noWaxJim! although they are not "the" greatest groups out right now, their fan base has been growing tramendously and they are definently close to the best. Merriweather Post Pavillion is going to be a very very successful release for them, but like noWaxJim said, definently dont forget about Strawberry Jam, Sung Tongs, Feels, or Campfire Songs. In my opinion, all of their records are fanominal and I would definently recommend all of their albums.

Seriously, if you need chemicals to appreciate any Animal Collective track you're missing the point...

Unquestionably the greatest group around right now - always different, always the same (with apologies to the late John Peel - who would have LOVED them - for nicking his comment re. The Fall, but totally justified here), the harbingers of a new era of 21st century neo-classicism. People will undoubtedly jump on the AC bandwagon with the release of Merriweather Post Pavillion (no problem if you do - you're just a few years late), but don't ignore Strawberry Jam or Feels - both beautiful modern masterpieces, just a little less Beach Boys-heavy on the harmonies (which, if you like that sort of thing, head straight for Panda Bear's Person Pitch). And they're even better live than on record.

Mong out to them if you must, but this is more addictive than whatever you're about to snort, swallow, smoke or inject. I'm hooked...
