One thing I think that’s beautiful about life is retrospect. I think what resonates with Amy’s listeners is her genuine perspective on the issues she sings about. That is an element that is very difficult to manufacture. Although I believe what she is going through is painful, the beautiful thing about it is she is able to turn it into art! Similar to Etta James, the dark days her mind and spirit are living through are the source of her expression. The gift to the listener is that her music takes you there for a brief period of time. Maybe it is this glimpse into her world that gives some listener just enough exposure to her pain to learn from it without having to live through it. Many of the world’s greatest artists have been a little on the edge of the social norms, but without their contributions to the creativity of their craft, the music industry would be far less interesting.
I do not care for many female artist but Amy is deff. dope. Winehouse has an old time feel with soul, she might be a bit on the crazy side but to me its intriguing.
Am loveing your music more and more. "Love Is a Losing Game" is one of my many of my favorite song. I adore your voice, Keep up with the great talent you have.
hope all is well in the winehouse house we need good music all around in a artist today someone you can pick up there cd and havent even heard one song. Thats what amy can do. THANK GOD for her music. Hope there will be another frank p.2 love back to black but frank is flawless... Hope to see you again on stage amy!!
Amy Winehouse has a wide stylistic range that just isn't seen or heard in many artists today. Sometimes I can't determine which is more intriguing, the depth of her lyrics or her ability to change vocal styles so easily. Everytime I listen to her music I think, "Lord let this woman see all that she has been blessed with and begin to take care of herself so she will see 40 and beyond." I guess that would be my wish for her, that she gives herself and her vocal chords a chance to mature and see what wonderful things will come out as she ages.... think Etta James, Dianne Reeves, etc. and how their voices mellowed and became more engaging with age. I often wonder what would have happened with Dinah Washington's voice if she had lived longer, I hope I won't ever have to wonder about Amy's but get to actually listen to it when she is 40 instead .
I love Amy Winehouse's music and can listen to each track of "Frank" every day. I hope she's better now that her husband's out of jail. She says a lot in her lyrics that others people think but probably don't have the cojones to just come out and say. Peace, Amy.
