Aesop's my favorite artist by far off of DefJux.  Saw him in Bellingham, WA of all places...twice...excited he's made it to the West coast!!

Underrated

Definitely the cream of the crop from the "less-obscure" obscure MCs. The barrier to entry to this man's style is enormous, but if you can get past the incredibly hard-to-follow lyrics, you'll immerse yourself in a beautiful dreamscape full of subtle metaphor, word-play and a striking intelligence unseen in any mainstream artist, and outpacing most underground artists.

Truly one of the greatest indie hip hop artists out, Aesop Rock weaves you a story as only he can with incredible imagery and description.  A prolific rapper like the world has never seen he gives new meaning to the way lyrics are portrayed.  If you are fond of Atmosphere, Eyedea and Abilities, The Grouch, and the like, make sure you check out Aes.  You won't be disappointed.
