Middleton's mix album spotlights the sublime jazz-house direction his main focus (Global Communication) had been heading toward for over two years. A Jedi's Night Out includes tracks by a host of artists related to GC's Universal Language label -- LA Synthesis, Sensurreal and Max 404, plus Global Communication themselves -- as well as sympathetic producers like Wamdue Kids and Stereo People. Middleton's mix is restrained and quite subtle, resulting in a smooth collection that simply floats by (for better or worse) with little of the DJ ego sprayed all over most mix albums. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
