This album to me is one of the classics in modern music, this album got me into to radiohead and i was quite obssessed with it for a long time. Then I enjoyed their other albums and fell in love with them as well. To me it's kind of like another dark side of the moon, not in sound but in the fact that it is complete from start to finish and leaves you breathless at the. Dark Side started my obsession with the Floyd like Kid A did with Radiohead> this album, ahhhhh. Not too mention the times I've seen them do the Kid A songs Live, which left me speechless. Can I get an AMEN!
Swell album. treefingers and Motion Picture Soundtrack are great when ready to settle down. I support everything Radiohead has put out to date and would recommend 'In rainbows' Bonus CD, also referred to as the Second CD.
I'll probably get a bunch of thumbs down for this, but I honestly believe this album is overrated and for the most part, Radiohead's worst album. Radiohead hit a homerun with OK Computer when experimenting with their sound. Then they pushed it too far with Kid A.
There are a few great songs mixed in the album, but for the most part, I can't help but think Radiohead let a cracked out homeless man mix this thing before getting to review it one last time.
The second album from the Kid A sessions, Amnesiac, is far more restrained electronica and a more solid work overall. I would love to hear Kid A not as chopped up and scattered. Even better, taking the best songs from both albums and producing it as one work -- then I think it could potentially be Radiohead's best album.
Overall-- This is without a doubt my least favorite Radiohead album. If my introduction to Radiohead was through this album, I'd be completely confused and disappointed.
