Basically an Omar Santana solo album, Hardhop Tricked Out features half a dozen tracks by Santana aliases -- Dark Side of the Shroom, Tales from the Hardside, Hard Hop Heathen, Imperial Stormtroopers (with Freddie Fresh) -- plus remixes by Simply Jeff and others. Santana's production and mixing are excellent, and though the album stays strictly within the confines of breakbeat and hardcore trance, it's still an enjoyable ride. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
