This is the first album I have listened to by Muse so I can make no comparison to the rest of their body of work. That said, I love this album; especially the opening track and the closing Exogenesis trilogy. There are a number of expertly executed samples (my favorite being the Doctor Who theme in Uprising) and a number of memorable hooks and melodies.
I'm a HUGE fan, I've listened to the album 5 times through and I'm not getting it. It's not horrible, and maybe it'll grow on me...but it's hard to imagine there will be seas of people at Glastonbury rocking out the these songs like they did for their past albums. They are however amazing musicians.
