Tank Girl was a gaudy bomb at the box office, but the soundtrack is much better than the film. Compiled by Courtney Love -- Hole's adequate "Drown Soda" is included on the album -- the soundtrack contains first-rate selections by Björk ("Army of Me") and Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots' side-project, the Magnificent Bastards ("Mockingbird Girl"). Not all of the soundtrack is quite as solid, but it is an enjoyable slice of mid-'90s alternative rock. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

  - From classic Devo to Joan Jett singing Cole Porter. Try the entire thing from beginning to the end. It all works together somehow.
