On all but the opening cut (which utilizes a different rhythm section), flugelhornist Mike Metheny's second recording matches him with his younger brother, guitarist Pat Metheny, keyboardist Dick Odgren, bassist Rufus Reid and drummer Tommy Ruskin. The material (three originals, Charlie Parker's "Segment," and a variety of melodic obscurities) suits Metheny's soft-toned horn and thoughtful solos well.
