If you hate on this album you are insane! No one in the game can match his lyrical genius and talent. This album is 4.5 of 5 at least. Allmusic gave this a 3.5, and Tha Carter III 4 stars! Wayne cant match Lupe's storytelling, and his killer lines. This album may have a difficult concept to understand, but the production is epic, the rhymes are sick, this album is one of the greatest in a long time.
I heard Dumb it Down and I was speechless. The wordplay on that record is insane. I love the line when he made reference to the Mario Bros. by talking about picking up fire flowers n spitting hot fire like Dylan. Shit was Genius
Let me start off by saying that I am not a fan of the rap genre at all, not because of the sound of it, but because of the lack of meaningful lyrics. Lupe manages to make his music sound good while still conveying a message. I also like the fact that he isn't gimmicky like a lot of popular rappers (he doesn't feel the need to create a dance to go along with one of his songs). I hope that he continues to create great music.
