Released just months after his full-length debut, Didot is Jan Werner's second album of mirthful, crayon-drawn electronica under his solo Lithops guise. With slightly cleaner production and a more varied stylistic palette than its predecessor (Uni Umit, released on his and Mouse On Mars partner Andi Toma's Sonig label), Didot skips through jittery house and electro, dense post-rock, and moist, foggy beatless ambient, subsuming each bizarre twist under the same generally unifying theme of weird samples and fractal electronics. Structure and thematic development are given clearer focus on Didot, making it the more accessible of the two LPs (not that that word might otherwise be appropriately applied to either). ~ Sean Cooper, All Music Guide
