album review
Eric Clapton would probably be the first to insist that playing guitar, even if one were one of the most consistent and visible guitar players in the latter part of the 20th Century, hardly makes one a hero. This set is a bit deceiving, since it consists of early live tracks with Jimmy Page when both Clapton and Page were briefly members of the Yardbirds with a couple of tracks added on from when Clapton played with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, so it includes nothing of Clapton with Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominoes or any of his subsequent solo material. Nothing to see here, as the saying goes. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
