A trio of bassist
Chris Dahlgren, alto saxophonist
Briggan Krauss, and percussionist
Jay Rosen, this group produces wildly diverse sounds, which is both an advantage and disadvantage. While these three can (and do) do it all on this recording, there is a slight lack of focus which some listeners might find distracting, but others will find entertaining. Each track is different, and the range of emotion is endless. "Noodle March" is an avant romp, with a touch of the humor of Krauss' group,
Sex Mob. Elsewhere, Krauss conjures images of
Albert Ayler, but mostly he is a true original, with enough here to satisfy most tastes. Rosen continues to impress with his wildly original style, and bassist
Dahlgren is an intimidating partner. Still, the remarkable Krauss is in the forefront, and his astonishing ability shines on every one of the fourteen tracks. ~ Steve Loewy, All Music Guide
