With their second album, Attention Please, Caroline's Spine doesn't so much as change their musical direction as refine it. They are still a post-grunge band, leaning hard on their guitars and turning the amps up, churning out a heavy rock that doesn't quite become metallic. They have developed stronger hooks, however, and are more assured in their performance. That doesn't mean that it's a perfect album -- some may complain that the production is a bit too clean to truly hit hard, but the real problem is the material is uneven -- but it does demonstrate that they're maturing at a steady pace, becoming a better band all the while. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
