I first heard of 30 Seconds to Mars at a show when they were touring with Puddle of Mud a long time ago. I was cleaning out my cd’s when I found my old demo album they gave to us and I remembered how they overshadowed even the headlining band. This CD is, sadly, the best of any 30StoM album released to date; I wish they would do more stuff like this.
I loved this album much more than A Beautiful Lie; this self-titled album is much more powerful and interesting than the poppy riffs in ABL. I think any other fans like me who were introduced to 30 Seconds to Mars because of the hit singles "The Kill" and "Attack" off of the ABL will be pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the first album is, especially in comparison to the second.
This was the first album released by 30 Seconds to Mars. It's excellent and from such a talented band what else could you expect? The songs on this album are heavy yet soothing at the same time. There is absolutely no tracks that can be skipped on this album. I give this album 5 of 5 stars.
